Premier League Club Makes Enquiry About Signing Man United Young Talent Mason Greenwood – Latest News And Transfer Updates

Mason Greenwood faces more abuse from fans in 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad - Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United’s academy has given fans plenty of joy in what has otherwise been a frustrating season. Now, it may very well end up helping the first team balance their books as well.

The likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho, and Scott McTominay have all stepped up in a big way to grind out a few positive results under Erik ten Hag.

Marcus Rashford has not been at his best, but INEOS plan to keep the homegrown superstar at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future. However, there is one talented academy product who is all but certain to permanently part ways with United this summer.

Mason Greenwood, who finds himself plying his trade in La Liga with Getafe, is pencilled in to return to Manchester following the end of his loan spell at the end of the season.

The Englishman has regained his confidence and ability to strike from anywhere in and around the penalty area with Getafe, having scored eight goals and provided six assists in the Spanish top-flight this term.

However, he is unlikely to be added to United’s first team fold due to off-the-pitch reasons.

A number of clubs across Europe, including Juventus and Barcelona, have been linked with the 22-year-old ahead of the summer window. Now, it seems a Premier League side has also joined the race for his services.

According to TeamTalk, an “unnamed Premier League side” have made an enquiry over the possibility of signing Greenwood.

Such an attempt, let alone the move itself, will be heavily scrutinised by many fans and pundits alike.

As such, it is likely that Greenwood will have to continue rebuilding his career abroad. At this stage, Juventus appear to be leading the race for the versatile forward.

Regardless of where he moves, United would hope to receive a substantial fee for their academy graduate.

The Premier League giants find themselves in a precarious financial position due to the Premier League’s PSR rules, meaning they may have to sell some star players to increase their transfer budget. In such a situation, Greenwood may prove to be very helpful.
