Preview of Americans Playing Abroad: A Look at Amon, Cowell, and Other Standout Players

Americans Abroad Weekend Preview: Amon, Cowell, and more

Jonathan Amon is back with Danish side Lyngby after signing a new contract this summer and the former U.S. men’s national team attacker will be seeking a strong start to the season.

Amon is coming off his most active professional season yet, making 28 appearances and registering two assists for the club. After missing parts of two seasons through injury, Amon returned to action for Lyngby and was a regular starter for the club. The 25-year-old remains a creative attacker and will hope for similar success this campaign as Lyngby aims to avoid a relegation fight.

A showdown with FC Københaven comes on Monday, which should pose a strong test for Amon and Lyngby.

In Mexico, Frankie Amaya, Cade Cowell and Brandon Vazquez continue their league campaigns.
