The Regular Season in Prva B just ended. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Podgorica 2 (20-2) on the court of fourth ranked Lim on Tuesday night. Visitors were rolled over by Lim 105-79. Lim made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. Lim had a 34-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. 28 personal fouls committed by Podgorica 2 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Miro Brakocevic who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Danilo Joksimovic contributed with 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Lazar Bajceta replied with 16 points and 9 rebounds for Podgorica 2. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lim maintains fourth position with 15-7 record. Podgorica 2 at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost.

Important game to mention about took place in Plav. Seventh ranked Balkanski Ris (13-10) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 6th ranked Ulcinj (12-10) 82-79 in the fight for the sixth place. American guard Kevin Holston Jr (185-1998, college: Alabama St.) had a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Mike Guillory chipped in 24 points during the contest. At the losing side Dusan Bevenja responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Balkanski Ris have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Ulcinj at the other side dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost.

A very close game took place in between Balkanski Ris and Montenegro. Seventh ranked Balkanski Ris (13-10) got a very close victory on the road over 8th ranked Montenegro (10-12). Balkanski Ris managed to escape with a 3-point win 77-74 on Sunday evening. Kevin Holston Jr notched a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Mitar Saric did not help to save the game for Montenegro. Montenegro’s coach tried various players’ combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn’t help. Balkanski Ris have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Montenegro lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 12 games lost.

Other games in round 22 were not that significant. Lim was beaten by Akademik on the road 77-65. Mediteran won against Vukovi Zeta on its own court 86-72. Susanj managed to outperform Ulcinj in a road game 95-84. All-Stars managed to beat Montenegro at home 81-79. Mediteran defeated Zeta on the opponent’s court 109-104. Susanj beat Rudar in a home game 104-91. Akademik was destroyed by Vukovi Zeta on the road 109-70. The most impressive performance of 22th round was 19 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals by Vasilije Misolic of Vukovi Zeta.

Akademik – Lim 77-65
There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Akademik (5-17) beat higher ranked Lim (15-7) in Podgorica 77-65 on Sunday. Akademik forced 19 Lim turnovers and outrebounded them 53-38 including 23 on the offensive glass. Ilija Popovic (-1999) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and power forward Stefan Perovic (202-1994) supported him with 18 points and 16 rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds by Damjan Scekic did not help to save the game for Lim. Stefan Joksimovic added 13 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Akademik maintains tenth position with 5-17 record. Loser Lim keeps the fourth place with seven games lost.

A very close game took place in between Balkanski Ris and Montenegro. Seventh ranked Balkanski Ris (13-10) got a very close victory on the road over 8th ranked Montenegro (10-12). Balkanski Ris managed to escape with a 3-point win 77-74 on Sunday evening. American guard Kevin Holston Jr (185-1998, college: Alabama St.) notched a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and Ognjen Boskovic supported him with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Even 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Mitar Saric did not help to save the game for Montenegro. Vukota Corovic added 15 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Lazar Carapic notched 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and point guard Vladimir Komnenovic (181-2007) supported him with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Even 14 points and 4 assists by Zeljko Matanovic (-2001) did not help to save the game for Vukovi Zeta. Petar Radovic added 11 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Vukovi Zeta’s coach let to play eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mediteran have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Loser Vukovi Zeta keeps the fifth position with nine games lost.

Rather predictable result when third ranked Susanj (16-6) won against 6th ranked Ulcinj (12-10) in Ulcijn 95-84 on Monday. Susanj outrebounded Ulcinj 42-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Susanj looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Aleksa Janicic notched a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and American guard Jonathan Bryant II (190-1998, college: Tampa) supported him with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Five Susanj players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 7 rebounds by Dusan Bevenja did not help to save the game for Ulcinj. Luka Bojovic added 14 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Susanj have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Ulcinj dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost.

All-Stars – Montenegro 81-79
There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Montenegro (10-12) was edged by eleventh ranked All-Stars (4-18) in Danilovgrad 81-79 on Monday. All-Stars forced 23 Montenegro turnovers and outrebounded them 48-36 including a 42-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. Serbian forward Nemanja Draskovic (204-1991) notched 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Simon Dominik supported him with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four All-Stars players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds by Vukota Corovic did not help to save the game for Montenegro. Mitar Saric added 26 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted All-Stars maintains eleventh position with 4-18 record. Montenegro lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 12 games lost.
