Professional Basketball Journal: Updates on News, Scores, Statistics, Game Analysis, and Standings

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: Wings (#3) and Zaza (#5). Zaza was crushed at home by 21 points 53-74 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game without a history. Wings led from the first minutes and controlled the entire game, increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 20 Zaza turnovers and outrebounded them 50-37 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Nikoloz Bzikadze (190-2006) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Andria Mdinaradze (190-2006) chipped in 23 points. At the other side, the best for the losing team was Luka Gorashvili (-2007) who recorded 9 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed the bench players to play, saving the starting five for the next games. Wings (17-3) have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They moved up to the second place. Zaza, on the other side, keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Wings’ supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face their local rival from Tbilisi, Tbilisi, at home.

Another exciting game was a derby between two teams from Tbilisi: Zaza (#5) and Hyundai (#3). Hyundai was defeated at home 83-91, and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It was a good game for guard Giorgi Tsagareishvili (-2007) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. Luka Gorashvili contributed 17 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Luka Dolbadze (190-2007) answered with 17 points and 9 rebounds for Hyundai. Both coaches used bench players, allowing the starters a little rest for the next games. Zaza maintains the fifth place with a 15-6 record. Hyundai, on the other side, keeps the third position with three games lost. Zaza’s supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face their local rival from Tbilisi at home.

Leader Rustavi delivered the eighteenth victory on Monday night. This time they beat 7th ranked Dinamo (10-10) 97-83 in Tbilisi. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Dinamo. It was a great evening for Giorgi Jangveladze who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 20 rebounds, and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was Lekso Kvijinadze with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 17 rebounds, and 8 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Rustavi. They maintain the first place with an 18-2 record. Loser Dinamo keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Rustavi will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before the next game. Dinamo’s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena TSU.
