The Regular Season in OBL just ended
Here is the last round review presented by Job Market:
Trefl – Wilki Morskie 92-98
The most important game in the last round took place in Sopot between second ranked Trefl (21-9) and fourth ranked Wilki Morskie (19-11) on Saturday night. Trefl was defeated by Wilki Morskie in a tough game at home 92-98. King dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Trefl’s 30. It was a great shooting night for King especially from behind the arc, where they had a solid 52.4 percentage. The former international point guard Andrzej Mazurczak (188-1994, college: Parkside) scored 17 points and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Avery Woodson (188-1993, college: Butler) chipped in 22 points during the contest. Wilki Morskie’s coach Arkadiusz Miloszewski used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Paul Scruggs (190-1998, college: Xavier) with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Legia and Stal. Trefl at the other side keeps the second position with nine games lost.
Twarde Pierniki – Anwil 70-91
OBL top team – Anwil (23-7) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Twarde Pierniki (13-17) in Wloclawek 91-70. Czech Tomas Kyzlink (198-1993) notched 17 points to lead the effort and Victor Sanders supported him with 12 points. Even 8 points and 13 rebounds by Croatian power forward Mate Vucic (204-1997) did not help to save the game for Twarde Pierniki. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anwil maintains first position with 23-7 record. Twarde Pierniki at the other side keeps the twelfth place with 17 games lost.
Start – Legia 92-112
The game in Lublin was quite interesting. Fifth ranked Legia (19-11) played at the court of 7th ranked Start (16-14). Legia did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 112-92 on Saturday. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was Loren Jackson who scored 24 points and 9 assists. At the other side, the best for the losing team was Liam OReilly who recorded 34 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Legia have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Stal and King. Loser Start keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
