KK Split (Premijer Liga) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 35-year old American shooting guard Shannon Shorter (193cm-96kg-1989, college: N.Texas) for season 2024-25. It is actually his comeback to Split as he has played here before. Shorter played this summer at Bleed Green (The Basketball Tournament) in the U.S. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. In two TBT games just recently he recorded 8.0ppg, 1.5rpg and 2.0apg. The last season he played at Al Ittihad Alexandria (Superleague) in Egyptian league.
Shorter is quite experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on six different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia, Africa and of course North America) in thirteen different countries. He has played previously professionally in Argentina, Australia (Adelaide 36ers), China (Shorterbei), France (Le Mans), Greece (PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki), Israel (Hapoel Kfar Saba/Shalom and Afula), Japan (Jets and Dragonflies), Lebanon (Al Riyadi), Mexico (Ostioneros de Guaymas), Turkey (TED Ankara and Afyon), South Korea (Mobis Phoebus and KoGas), The Basketball Tournament (Tri-State Titans and Aftershocks) and Big3 (Bivouac).
He won Croatian Druga championship title in 2023.
Shorter graduated from University of North Texas in 2012 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season as a professional player. He played for other colleges like: Paris Junior College, Texas A&M University Corpus Christi.
