The Miami Dolphins’ recent 15-10 victory was a bittersweet affair, marred by an uneven performance that left players and fans alike with a sense of unease.

Post-game interviews revealed a team acutely aware of their shortcomings, with offensive disconnection and special teams mishaps topping the list of concerns.

However, the defense now faces its own set of challenges, adding to the team’s growing list of worries.

Safety Jevon Holland’s departure due to a hand injury has cast a shadow over the Dolphins’ defensive unit.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reports that Holland sustained a broken bone in his hand, potentially sidelining him for an extended period.

The exact timeline for his return remains uncertain, but his absence will undoubtedly force the team to adjust their defensive strategy.

This setback comes on the heels of other significant losses for Miami.

Edge rusher Jaelan Phillips’ season-ending knee injury and Bradley Chubb’s ongoing absence have already weakened the defensive line.

Safety Jordan Poyer’s shin injury further compounds the issues in the secondary.

The offense hasn’t been spared either, with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on injured reserve and running back De’Von Achane exiting Sunday’s game with a concussion.

Holland’s potential long-term absence will create a substantial void in the Dolphins’ secondary, especially with Poyer already sidelined.

Should Holland miss multiple games, Elijah Campbell is expected to step into the starting free safety role.
