The new-look Atlanta Falcons got off to a rough start to the 2024 NFL season, losing at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers in a low-scoring affair.

New Falcons head coach Raheem Morris was brought in to revitalize a team filled with talent on both sides of the field, especially offensively.

However, the offense looked out of its depth against a stout Pittsburgh defense that had them pinned down for most of the afternoon.

Kirk Cousins looked rusty in his return to the field after missing the backhalf of the 2023 NFL campaign with an Achilles tear.

Fortunately, the defense looked solid in spurts but will now be tasked with trying to slow down an improved Philadelphia Eagles offense on Monday Night Football.

Their challenge got even more difficult when Morris announced inside linebacker Nate Landman would miss the game.

“Raheem Morris has ruled Nate Landman OUT of Monday night’s game vs. the Philadelphia Eagles,” Tori McElhaney reported.

Landman was limited in Week 1 with a quad injury he was managing during training camp and the preseason, but was also listed on the injury report with a calf injury that will sideline him against Philadelphia.

Landman didn’t practice throughout the week, so the injury designation for Monday Night Football is not surprising.

In his stead, Atlanta will need to lean on Kaden Ellis and Troy Anderson, along with rookie JD Bertrand.

Unlike the Steelers, the Eagles boast several threats offensively so this could be another tough showing for a Falcons team looking to get in the win column.
