PSG Aims to End Bayern’s Dominance in Champions League Clash
Nov 3, 2025, 07:50 PM ET – Luis Enrique expressed confidence that Paris Saint-Germain can halt Bayern Munich’s remarkable 15-match winning streak in their upcoming Champions League encounter.
The German champions will visit the French capital, where PSG is the last team to have defeated them in competitive play, achieving a 2-0 victory during a Club World Cup quarterfinal in Atlanta last July.
At a recent press conference, Enrique remarked, “Their run over the last 15 games is truly incredible. Winning three or four matches in a row is challenging, but to achieve 15 is exceptional. They have earned that recognition.”
He continued, “Our game will be at the Parc des Princes in front of our dedicated fans, and we’re optimistic about raising our performance to meet their challenge.” Enrique anticipates the match will resemble their previous summer encounter.
Both PSG and Bayern, who defeated them in the 2020 final, are currently at the top of their group, with PSG leading on goal difference. However, Bayern has managed to secure victories in the last four Champions League meetings without conceding a goal.
When asked about whether the winner could be seen as the best team in Europe, PSG midfielder Vitinha stated, “We’ll find out tomorrow. Our focus should be on performing well on the pitch rather than discussing it here.”
Bayern’s success may heavily depend on England captain Harry Kane, who has netted 24 goals for both club and country this season.
Vitinha praised Kane, saying, “He is an exceptional player, one of the best globally. His numbers over the years have been outstanding, and he has had an incredible start to this season with unbelievable statistics.”
He added, “But we also recognize that Bayern Munich is filled with talented players, including Harry Kane.”
Veteran Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer acknowledged the challenge PSG presents as well. The 39-year-old stated, “We aren’t intimidated; we enjoy competing against PSG. They possess individual talents and an excellent coaching staff. They deserve to be Champions League contenders.”
Neuer further highlighted PSG’s threat, saying, “Their counter-attacks can be perilous, and they are capable of scoring from long distances. PSG has immense quality, so we will need to defend well and seize opportunities to exploit any vulnerabilities.”
