PSG Contemplating Making a Move for Manchester United Star Marcus Rashford – Latest News on Manchester United Transfers and Player Updates

Paris Saint-Germain considering returning for Man United star Marcus Rashford - Man United News And Transfer News

Even the FA Cup final success cannot mask the fact that Manchester United had a disastrous season with the club registering their lowest-ever Premier League finish while breaking numerous unwanted records in the process.

Manager Erik ten Hag was let down by several of his big-name stars including Marcus Rashford, who followed up his career-best haul of 30 goals in the Dutchman’s first campaign with eight goals in the whole of last season.

Apart from his poor form in front of goal, the Mancunian’s lack of effort on the pitch and numerous off-field controversies meant fans and the manager were deeply disappointed in the academy graduate.

Ten Hag was particularly unimpressed after he gave the green light for a new five-year deal but the player revealed his inconsistent self so soon after signing the bumper contract.

Rashford’s disappointing season

He was spotted partying after a derby defeat earlier in the season while he reported sick before a FA Cup game after going out on a 12-hour tequila bender the night before.

The England international is currently 26 and should be entering his prime, but instead time and again has followed up a sublime season with a frustrating campaign and INEOS are reportedly open to a sale should they receive a big enough bid.

Rashford, for his part, has met with the new co-owners as well as the manager in a bid to understand where his future lies. He is reportedly desperate to stay back at his boyhood club.

Now, Talksport have revealed that long-term suitors Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to re-enter the race for the forward’s signature should they receive the green light from the player.

In the past, Rashford did flirt with the Parisian giants, only to then sign a new lucrative deal. With Kylian Mbappe no longer at the Parc des Princes, PSG are seriously considering alternatives and are open to signing the England international.

But they want to be sure that Rashford also has the same motivation about coming to Paris before proceeding. With United’s budget quite limited, INEOS are looking at player sales to supplement that amount.

PSG back in for Rashford

“Paris St Germain will consider a move for Marcus Rashford this summer, talkSPORT understands. It’s understood that the French giants could step up their interest if they receive encouragement that the Manchester United star is open to the move.

“PSG have been long-time admirers of Rashford and could pursue a move given his uncertain future at Old Trafford.

“While Man United are not actively looking to sell the forward, the Red Devils could be open to a big-money offer in order to help raise funds for new signings.”

The Englishman, who missed out on Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad, has a market value of €60 million as per Transfermarkt and it will be intriguing to see how Sir Jim Ratcliffe handles this situation.
