Pulisic finds the net as AC Milan succumbs to Liverpool in Champions League debut

Christian Pulisic scores but AC Milan falls to Liverpool in UCL opener

Christian Pulisic wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard in the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League.

AC Milan’s Pulisic gave his team an early advantage over Liverpool at the San Siro, but the Reds fought back for a 3-1 win. This marked Pulisic’s seventh goal in the UCL.

AC Milan started strong, with Pulisic scoring after only three minutes. He quickly made his way into the Liverpool box and confidently shot with his right foot, securing a 1-0 lead.

This goal was Pulisic’s third for AC Milan this summer across all competitions.

Liverpool responded before halftime, with center backs Ibrahim Konate and Virgil Van Dijk both adding goals. Konate equalized in the 23rd minute and Van Dijk put Liverpool in front just before halftime.

Dominik Szoboszlai further extended Liverpool’s lead with a goal, leaving AC Milan trailing 3-1.

Despite the loss, Pulisic was a standout for AC Milan, winning three duels, completing one tackle, and attempting one dribble. His USMNT teammate Yunus Musah did not see any playing time.

AC Milan will face Inter in Serie A action on Sunday, while Liverpool will take on Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.
