Queen’s Club Champion Tommy Paul Pulls Out of Eastbourne International

Queen's Club Champion Tommy Paul Withdraws From Eastbourne International

Tommy Paul will not be participating in the 2024 Eastbourne International after his victory at the Cinch Championships the previous week.

Following his successful week in London, the American has decided not to travel to the south coast of England. Although he was on the entry list for the Eastbourne International and even appeared in the draw a few days ago, he will not be participating in the ATP 250 event.

This decision was made to allow Paul to rest and recover after his demanding week in London, where he claimed the Cinch Championships title. His impressive performance throughout the tournament, culminating in the final, has left him in need of some recovery time.

With Wimbledon on the horizon, Paul has opted to skip this upcoming week’s tournament to focus on preparing for the prestigious Grand Slam event. Given his current form and confidence, it makes sense for him to stay in London and concentrate on training for Wimbledon.

This victory at the Cinch Championships has provided a significant momentum boost for Paul, positioning him as a contender to make a deep run at Wimbledon, especially now that he is the top-ranked American player. After a strong year of performances, Paul has finally achieved this milestone.

His game is well-suited for grass courts, with a potent serve and powerful groundstrokes from both wings. When he is in top form, few players can match his shot-making abilities, and currently, he is at his best.

Despite Paul’s absence, the Eastbourne International will continue, with lucky loser Charles Broom stepping in to fill his spot in the draw and receive support from the local fans.
