Raducanu Shares Positive Update After Miami Open Withdrawal

Raducanu Shares Positive Update After Miami Open Withdrawal

Emma Raducanu withdrew from the 2024 Miami Open with a back injury, but she’s back on the courts, and they’re not hard courts.

After spending much of 2023 away from the courts, Raducanu returned earlier this year in Australia. She didn’t look too good to start, even though she won a couple of matches.

That didn’t change much until the Indian Wells Open, where Raducanu finally played some good tennis. She hoped to keep that going at the Miami Open, but it didn’t work out.

She withdrew from the event due to a back injury. The injury didn’t seem too serious, but it was enough to keep her away from the courts, which is a shame for all of her fans. Playing at the Miami Open was exactly what she needed to build any momentum she found at the Indian Wells Open.

The second problem with the injury was that we didn’t know how serious it was. Back issues can be troublesome and linger quite a bit. Neither of those things would be ideal for Raducanu.

How was this going to impact her season moving forward? Now, we have an answer because Raducanu is already back on the tennis courts, which is great news. Being able to return to practice so soon basically means that it’s just a minor setback.

The picture she uploaded to social media shows Raducanu on a clay court, which makes sense because the next few weeks will be all about clay. We already know where Raducanu will come back, and it’s the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart.

It was the last event she played last year before undergoing triple surgery, and it’s one of those events she generally always plays. Porsche is her sponsor, and that’s why she’s always one of the players competing at the WTA 500 tournament, which this year starts on April 13th.
