Rams Announce Roster Change Before Matchup Against Raiders

Rams Are Signing Veteran Safety

Coming off their bye week, the Los Angeles Rams will be looking to bounce back when they host the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7.

The break couldn’t have come at a better time for the Rams as they’ve been marred by injuries on both sides of the ball.

Offensively, the team has been missing Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua and multiple offensive linemen, while defensively, the secondary has missed key players as well.

Head coach Sean McVay has done well to maximize the talent on the roster but still needs his stars in order to dig the team out of its 1-4 hole.

Fortunately, the matchup against the Raiders is much softer now that they’ve traded away Davante Adams, though the Rams still need to go out and win the game.

Prior to the game, Los Angeles announced a roster move.

“Activated, from Practice Squad DB Ahkello Witherspoon,” the team said on X.

Witherspoon re-signed with the Rams last month after going unsigned as a free agent this offseason.

He played for the Rams during the 2023 NFL season and had a strong year as one of their outside cornerbacks, and now he presumably will reprise that role.

His familiarity with the defense and personnel should help him acclimate quickly, and he’ll be needed as the pass defense has been mediocre at best.

Los Angeles can get back on track and improve its postseason hopes with a win, so it’ll be crucial for the defense to perform well.
