The Los Angeles Rams are adding some help to their secondary.
According to insider Jordan Schultz, the Rams are re-signing veteran cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon, who started every game for them in the 2023 season.
He recorded career-highs with 52 tackles, 14 passes defended, and three interceptions.

The Rams signed former Pro Bowl cornerback Tre’Davious White this offseason, and now they add another veteran in Witherspoon.
In a Week 1 overtime loss to the Detroit Lions, Lions quarterback Jared Goff threw for 217 yards and one touchdown.
Additionally, the loss of All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald to retirement puts more stress on the secondary because he would create so much pressure on the quarterback.
Adding Witherspoon could help bring some consistency and stability.
In a conference with the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Rams are going to have to button up the back of their defense.
Remember, this team had Jalen Ramsey at cornerback and safety Eric Weddle in winning the Super Bowl in the 2021 season.
Teams that have Super Bowl aspirations need solid a pass defense.
If the Rams are looking to get back to another Super Bowl with Matthew Stafford as their quarterback, their defensive backs could be the X-factor.
