Former Manchester United academy product Ravel Morrison has joined the 14th club of his career, Precision FC in Dubai.
The 31 year old was regularly dubbed as one of the most talented players in United’s academy and won the FA Youth Cup in 2011 alongside names such as Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Sam Johnstone, who all went on to play regularly in the Premier League.
Morrison’s talent was described as a “scandal” by pundit and former player Gary Neville and his former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, labelled him as possessing “as much natural talent as any youngster we ever signed.”
However, it was not to be for Morrison in a United shirt as he reportedly kept getting into trouble off the pitch and was sold to West Ham United in 2012 after only making three appearances for the Red Devils’ first team.
This sparked a journeyman career as he has played in seven different countries despite only being 31 years old.
The Daily Mail report that “former Premier League star Ravel Morrison has just signed for his 14th club at the age of 31” as he “has moved to the UAE to join Precision FC in Dubai.”
Precision won promotion to the second division in the UAE last season and are clearly excited to sign someone with the name recognition of Morrison.
His latest move was announced by his new club via Instagram in a statement that read, “we are beyond excited to welcome the incredible Ravel Morrison to Precision FC!”
“This is more than a signing – it’s a statement, a game-changer for both our club and football in the UAE.”
They claimed that the player has “electrifying talent and skill” and brings “world-class experience” to the team.
The club signed off by saying, “this is the start of something extraordinary. Welcome to the family, Ravel!”
Morrison is joining a squad that has numerous players with experience in British football.
“Another United academy graduate, goalkeeper Max Johnstone, is part of the squad alongside ex-Burnley stalwart Matt Lowton. Football League journeyman Ben Pringle, Tottenham academy graduate Emmanuel Sonupe, Northern Ireland international Jamie Ward and former QPR and Huddersfield Town defender Joel Lynch are among those to have also put pen to paper for the club.”
Morrison has sadly never been able to stay longer than three seasons at one club and will be hoping that he has finally found a place to put down roots until the end of his career.
