Real Madrid has extended an apology after mistakenly featuring the wrong player’s image in a tribute video dedicated to Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva, who tragically lost their lives in a car accident in Spain this past July.

During the club’s general assembly held on Sunday, the video showcased a picture of Elche player André da Silva instead of that of Silva.

Madrid’s president, Florentino Pérez, addressed the incident, stating, “There was an error in the institutional video. We apologize; it was a human error.”

Later on Sunday, Real Madrid drew 2-2 with Elche in LaLiga, with Jude Bellingham scoring a crucial late goal. This result allowed Madrid to maintain their position at the top of the league, holding a one-point lead over Barcelona.
