Real Madrid is reportedly pursuing a transfer for Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.
The Netherlands international has made a strong impression since arriving at Liverpool and is now a regular starter. As reported by Fichajes, the Spanish giants have made a significant bid of €120 million to secure his services.
Additionally, Barcelona is also showing interest in Gravenberch.
Importance of Ryan Gravenberch
The decision by Liverpool to accept or decline the bid remains uncertain. Reports suggest that Gravenberch is considered a crucial player for the team, but a lucrative offer could provide the funds needed to strengthen various aspects of the squad.
Gravenberch’s contract with Liverpool extends until 2028, making any potential transfer complex. The club is already facing challenges regarding midfield depth, relying heavily on Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Alexis Mac Allister. Should they sell the Dutch midfielder, a strategic investment in new central players would be necessary to maintain competitiveness.
Liverpool Should Retain Gravenberch
Retaining key players like Gravenberch should be a priority for Liverpool as they aim to bolster their squad for a title challenge. Currently, they find themselves vying for a top-four finish instead. Having a cohesive team is essential, and addressing weaknesses in upcoming transfer windows will be vital.
Gravenberch, at just 23 years old, seems to be thriving at Liverpool, and it is improbable he would push for a transfer at this stage. Despite the allure of playing for Real Madrid, a move appears unlikely for the time being.
