Cade Cowell’s impressive start to the Liga MX Apertura season continued on Saturday, with the American attacker adding to his goal tally for the summer.
Cowell scored the winning goal in Chivas’ 2-0 victory over Mazatlan, marking his third goal in four appearances this season. The former San Jose Earthquakes homegrown player showcased his skills by dancing into the Mazatlan box before firing a right-footed shot into the far right corner of the net.
This goal was Cowell’s fourth goal contribution of the season, propelling Chivas to their second consecutive victory. The 20-year-old also excelled in other aspects of his game, winning two duels and completing 91% of his passes during the match where he played a positive 81 minutes from his left wing position.
Cowell’s upcoming match promises to be an emotional one as Chivas prepares to host the Earthquakes in the start of the Leagues Cup action on July 27.
Meanwhile in Mexico, Frankie Amaya continued his early days with Toluca, while Brandon Vazquez made an appearance off the bench for Monterrey.
