Reggie Cannon back available for QPR following injury scare

Reggie Cannon back available for QPR following injury scare

QPR manager Marti Cifuentes will have the services of Reggie Cannon available for this weekend’s trip to Blackburn Rovers.

Cannon limped off in the opening 13 minutes of QPR’s 1-1 home league draw with Huddersfield Town last weekend. However, despite an injury worry for the relegation-threatened squad, Cannon trained this week and is expected to play a role on Saturday.

“Reggie has been feeling good and training with the group,” Cifuentes told reporters Friday in his pre-match press conference. “We expect him to be completely ready for the game.”

The 25-year-old full back joined QPR as a free agent signing last September and has made 16 appearances to date. Cannon has featured in every QPR league match from November 28 – January 28, logging 90 minutes in four of those appearances.

A former FC Dallas homegrown player, Cannon has fit right into Cifuentes’ squad this season at right back. Despite QPR’s struggles during the first half of the season, Cannon has been a positive addition for the West London club and will be pushing to help them avoid relegation this spring.

QPR sits three points clear from safety with 17 matches left to play this season.
