Some future draft pick news hit the wire for New York Jets fans on Friday.
However, it wasn’t the best news.
According to NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein, the Jets are not expected to receive any compensatory draft picks for their free-agent losses this offseason.

GM Joe Douglas did indeed lose some key pieces this offseason.
The list includes important players along the trenches such as ascending edge-rusher Bryce Huff, who had 10.5 sacks last season, former first-round offensive tackle Mekhi Becton, and starting defensive end John Franklin-Myers.
But, Jets fans shouldn’t worry about the compensatory picks if the players that they brought in end up helping the team finally win a championship.
Some of the key additions include All-Pro edge-rusher Haason Reddick, big-play receiver Mike Williams, future Hall-of-Fame left tackle Tyron Smith, and veteran defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw.
It’s also not as if a compensatory pick is a first-rounder.
In almost all cases, compensatory picks usually end up being anywhere from a third-rounder, at best, to a seventh-rounder.
This Jets team doesn’t need to worry about those future picks anyway.
With Aaron Rodgers in New York, it’s all about winning right now.
This team certainly has the pieces to do it if everyone stays healthy.
Look for Gang Green to make a deep playoff run without the thought of no compensatory picks getting them down.
