Report: Brenden Aaronson due in Yorkshire court over alleged driving offenses

The frustrating moments for Brenden Aaronson have reportedly continued, but this time it has occurred off the field.

Aaronson is due in Harrogate Magistrates Court on January 3 after alleged driving offenses, The Yorkshire Evening Post reported Tuesday. The U.S. men’s national team winger/midfielder is currently on loan at Bundesliga club Union Berlin from Leeds United.

The report details two alleged offenses which took place in 2023. The first is for allegedly exceeding 30 mph on March 12 and the second is from August 9 when Aaronson allegedly failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle when required to do so.

If convicted of the charges, Aaronson could be disqualified from driving.

The 23-year-old has endured a tough loan spell so far at Union Berlin, where he has yet to score or assist this season. Aaronson has logged 450 minutes in 14 combined appearances, featuring in the UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga, and DFB Pokal competitions.

Aaronson’s former Leeds United teammate Rasmus Kristensen, who is currently on loan at Serie A side AS Roma, is also due in Harrogate Magistrates court in December over an alleged speeding offense.

Both players arrived at the club last season, but since fell out of favor, which led to their respective loan spells elsewhere.
