Report: LeBron James Not Making Playing with Bronny a Priority

Bronny LeBron

LeBron James has always expressed his desire to play in the NBA alongside his son Bronny, but recent reports suggest a change in plans.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski indicated that conversations with James’ agent Rich Paul have revealed that the idea of father and son playing together may not be a top priority for LeBron at this time.

Paul is currently evaluating potential NBA teams that may be the right fit for drafting Bronny into a conducive developmental system.

“Rich Paul’s focus during the pre-draft process for Bronny James is to find a suitable organization that can provide the necessary support for his development, especially after a season at USC where he faced limitations due to a heart episode,” Woj explained on a recent episode of NBA Today. “If he enters the draft, he is likely to spend the following season in the G League.”

Wojnarowski suggested that the Lakers are more inclined to trade their first-round pick rather than using it to select Bronny in order to create history of father and son playing together.

“LeBron James, Bronny James, and Rich Paul seem to be open to the idea of playing together if it happens organically,” Wojnarowski added. “However, considering the Lakers’ draft assets, especially the crucial No. 17 pick, it is more probable that they will use it in a major trade rather than on Bronny James. Additionally, with the No. 55 pick, he may already be off the board by that point.”

Uncertainty looms over LeBron’s future with the Lakers, especially after the team’s recent postseason exit.
