RJ Barrett had no intention of parting ways with New York or the Knicks. However, if a move was inevitable, Barrett expressed his joy in returning to his hometown of Toronto to play for the Raptors.
Given his significant role in the Canadian National Team and his upbringing in the Toronto area, Barrett views the Raptors as an excellent fit for him.
In the trade deal, Toronto secured Barrett and Immanuel Quickley from the New York Knicks, sending OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa, and Malachi Flynn in exchange.
