After winning four Super Bowl titles while catching passes from legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady while with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, superstar tight end Rob Gronkowski called it a career and has been widely considered the greatest tight end of all time for what he accomplished on the football field.

Although Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs is making it an argument since winning a third Super Bowl ring last February, Gronkowski still seems to have the edge for the time being.

Even though Kelce has a great chance of having the distinction as the greatest player ever to play the position once it is all said and done, Gronkowski still gets a lot of respect and admiration from his peers.

Gronkowski recently opened up about his admiration for Tony Gonzalez, who is undoubtedly one of the best players to play tight end in the history of the NFL via Savage Sports.

Unlike Kelce and Gronkowski, who have seven Super Bowl titles combined, Gonzalez was never able to win that elusive title during his NFL career, falling short during his stints with the Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons.

However, Gonzalez filled up the stat sheet on a weekly basis during his career, resulting in 15,127 receiving yards and 111 touchdowns on 1,325 receptions, which earned him 10 All-Pro honors and 14 trips to the Pro Bowl.
