Rob Gronkowski Reveals the Player Who Helped Make Tom Brady ‘Untouchable’

Rob Gronkowski Reveals One Player That Made Tom Brady 'Untouchable'

Tom Brady #12 of the New England Patriots warms up prior to Super Bowl

Tom Brady played with a ton of great players during his two-plus decades dominating the NFL on his way to winning seven Super Bowls.

Four-time Super Bowl champion and perhaps the greatest tight end of all time, Rob Gronkowski, was one of those players, but he recently revealed which player made Brady “untouchable.”

Gronk recently appeared on former teammate Julian Edelman’s Games With Names podcast and said “Tom Brady will always be Tom Brady…but Randy Moss made Tom Brady untouchable.”

In Moss’ first season with the Patriots in 2007, Brady set what was then the NFL record with 50 passing touchdowns to go along with a career-low eight interceptions.

Brady threw for a career-high 4,806 yards that season (a record he later broke) and set his career-high with a 68.9 percent completion percentage (this record held up through the rest of his career).

Moss was coming off the worst year of his career in his second and final campaign with the Oakland Raiders where he put up 553 yards and three touchdowns.

Many thought he was washed up at 30 years old, but Moss proved everybody wrong immediately by posting 98 catches for 1,493 yards and set the NFL record with 23 receiving touchdowns.

As great as Brady was throughout his entire career, he reached unattainable heights when he had Moss catching passes for him.

The Pats largely surrounded him with talented tight ends and rarely had big-time receivers for Brady to work with, so having Moss for a while had to feel like a breath of fresh air.
