The Dallas Cowboys find themselves in an interesting predicament.
They have yet to sign Dak Prescott to a contract extension, and judging by the new contracts that are coming out, they might want to rethink that decision.
Trevor Lawrence just received a massive extension worth up to $55 million per year, a player with less experience and accolades on his resume than Prescott.
Robert Griffin III urged the Cowboys to make a decision soon, saying, “Yesterday’s price ain’t today’s price” on Twitter.
Cowboys better pay Dak Prescott ASAP. Because yesterday’s price AIN’T TODAY’S PRICE. Trevor Lawrence just got $55 million per year.

Griffin believes that the Cowboys had a window to pay Prescott less, but now that Lawrence has been inked to this massive deal, Prescott will likely come to the negotiating table wanting more money.
Lawrence has gotten better every season, but some are concerned that he’s not worth this amount of money.
There was a similar public sentiment when the New York Giants extended Daniel Jones to a contract worth up to $40 million per year.
With all of this in mind, the Cowboys have a pressing decision to make.
At this point, it would be surprising if they didn’t pay Prescott and keep him around as their starter for the foreseeable future, but it remains to be seen how much they value him.
If they offer substantially less than Lawrence’s yearly rate, Prescott could try to leave the Cowboys and join a team that’ll pay him what he believes he’s worth.
This situation just got a lot more interesting for the Cowboys, and fans are waiting to see how it plays out, especially since they still need to pay Micah Parsons and CeeDee Lamb.
