
Ron Rivera was let go from his head-coaching role in Washington this offseason after four years leading the franchise.
After being let go, he interviewed with several teams for a potential defensive coordinator role.
One of the teams that he interviewed with was the Dallas Cowboys.
Rivera had this to say about the interview process:
“It was a really good experience and it would’ve been a really good fit. I love the potential Dallas has right now,” he said on “Undisputed” Tuesday morning.

Dallas would later decide to go with former Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer as the new defensive coordinator after Dan Quinn left to take the head-coaching job of the Commanders.
Rivera is now an analyst after being a head coach for the last 13 NFL seasons.
He spent nine in Carolina and led them to a Super Bowl appearance.
Then, he would spend the next four in Washington only to make the playoffs just once.
Before his head-coaching career, he was a defensive assistant and/or coordinator from 1997 to 2010 for the Bears, Eagles, and Chargers.
What many people forget is that Rivera was a linebacker on the “Monsters of the Midway” defense for the Chicago Bears.
He helped them win a Super Bowl in 1985.
So, he has a lot of defensive knowledge and has been around the NFL for a long time (40 years).
It’s hard to imagine his time in the NFL being over because of his experience being a head coach and coordinator.
For now, he will just have to wait for the right opportunity.
