Roy Keane, the former Manchester United captain, expressed concern that Arsenal seemed anxious in their match against Liverpool, which may present a significant issue for manager Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners missed the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League, settling for a 0-0 draw against the Reds.

Despite Liverpool’s struggles this season, they displayed solid defense at the Emirates Stadium, frustrating the home fans and forcing Arsenal to accept just one point.

Arsenal still maintains a six-point advantage over Manchester City in the standings, so the situation is not dire, but Keane pointed out that both the players and the supporters appeared tense, which could be problematic with tougher matches ahead.

“Not great but you’ll take your point and move on”

Roy Keane commented that Arsenal seemed apprehensive during the game.

During his post-match analysis on Sky Sports, Keane remarked, “There was a palpable tension in the stadium. Liverpool aren’t performing well, and this was a chance for Arsenal to extend their lead.”

He continued, “In the dressing room, they might think it’s not great, but they should take the point and move forward. However, their performance was timid, which might worry the manager as more challenging games approach.”

Keane added, “They appeared somewhat scared to seize the opportunity tonight, but of course, they can be pleased with the point and a clean sheet.”

Arsenal faced a defeat against Liverpool in an earlier match this season and managed only a draw against Manchester City at home, while also drawing against Chelsea while playing with ten men for much of the game.

Arteta will hope for a resurgence from his squad, encouraging them to play with greater confidence as the season progresses and the stakes become higher.
