Rudy Gobert and Shaquille O’Neal have been engaging in a public dispute this week, following ‘Shaq’s’ harsh criticism of the Timberwolves star.

Rudy Gobert Replies To Shaq

Shaquille O’Neal is known for speaking his mind, and he did not hold back when sharing his thoughts on Rudy Gobert, despite the Minnesota player’s recent success in the NBA.

‘Shaq’ criticized the French big man, accusing Gobert of not putting in enough effort after signing his latest contract with the Timberwolves.

“If you sign a contract for 250 (million dollars), show me 250 (worth of effort),” O’Neal said.

Gobert responded to Shaq on Twitter, referring to him as ‘triggered’ and pointing out the veteran’s focus on another man’s finances and accomplishments.

“I get the entertainment part but unlike other folks, you don’t need that stuff to stay relevant.”

Despite Shaq’s criticism, Gobert has proven to be one of the most reliable defenders in the NBA over his 11-year career, with multiple Defensive Player of The Year awards to his name.

Gobert’s success in the league led to a lucrative five-year, $205 million contract, showcasing his value as a dominant player in the NBA.
