Rudy Gobert Fires Back at Shaq’s Criticism of his Performance

Gobert

The ongoing beef between Rudy Gobert and Shaq has reignited following controversial comments made by Shaq about the Timberwolves big man.

The NBA legend recently appeared in a video for Complex, where he was questioned about who he believes is the worst player of all time in the NBA.

Shaq quickly responded with “Rudy Gobert” without hesitation.

He went on to elaborate on his opinion, criticizing Gobert for not living up to his massive contract and implying that he doesn’t deserve the salary he’s earning.

Gobert, however, responded to Shaq’s comments on X, expressing his disappointment in Shaq for being fixated on another man’s financial success rather than focusing on his own achievements.

Shaq has a history of publicly criticizing Gobert, which began around 2020 when Gobert signed a lucrative five-year $205 million deal.

In a podcast episode earlier this year, Shaq continued to question Gobert’s worth, suggesting that he doesn’t work hard enough to earn his salary and claiming he could make the same money at Gobert’s age.

Gobert has faced ridicule from other players as well, with Draymond Green notably getting physical with him on the court in the past.
