Rune Set To Donate Money To Charity For Every Ace Hit At Indian Wells Open

Rune Set To Donate Money To Charity For Every Ace Hit At Indian Wells Open

Besides playing tennis in Indian Wells, Holger Rune will be doing some charity work, as he’ll donate money for every ace that he hits.

Besides being a very good tennis player, the young Dane is also a person with a very big heart. Children’s causes are very dear to him because he’s fully aware that not every child gets the childhood they deserve.

He’s been pretty lucky in that regard, and he wants to make sure that as many kids as possible can have a similar childhood. Toward that cause, he’s pledged to donate money for every ace he hits at the Indian Wells Open.

The beneficiary of that will be Danish children’s charities. He’s set to donate 2,500 Danish Krone, which equates to about $364 US Dollars, to Borns Vilkar, an organization that helps vulnerable children.

As his mother explained recently, Rune was deeply moved by some of the situations he saw while traveling around the world. That left a lasting impression on him, and he wants to help in that regard.

“All children have the right to a safe childhood and an adult to talk to. I myself am very aware of the privileged childhood I have had, and how important it has been to my life and the opportunities I have today.”

“Unfortunately, not everyone is aware of this, and it always makes an incredibly big impression on me when I hear about children who are exposed to failure.”

Rune can average up to 10 aces per match, so that could equate to a pretty good donation, depending on how far he goes at the ATP Masters 1000 event.

He’s played fairly well this year, and the conditions should suit his style of play. Regardless of how much he donates, it’s a very noble gesture from the young Dane.
