Russell Westbrook Speaks on Heated Incident With Fan

Russell Westbrook Speaks on Heated Incident With Fan

Russell Westbrook has spoken out about a heated verbal altercation he had with a courtside fan on Monday night.

The incident occurred during the Clippers’ home game against the Denver Nuggets, which LA lost despite the Nuggets being without Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.

A referee and players from both teams had to intervene to cool tensions. Westbrook then spoke his mind after the game.

“Fans kind of have the right of way to say whatever they want, but like I told you, any disrespect to me or my family, I won’t allow it,” Westbrook said. “This is our job.”

Paul George also responded to the altercation.

“Nowhere else can people go to someone’s job and disrespect you at your job and it be okay,” he said.

“When people come to work, they should be respected at their job.”

It was an especially bad loss for the Clippers, considering the players Denver was missing.

To make matters worse, they were torched by former Clippers players Reggie Jackson and DeAndre Jordan.

Jackson went off for 35 points and 13 assists on 78.9 percent shooting, while DeAndre Jordan put up 21 points, 13 rebounds and five assists on 72.7 percent from the field, despite rarely seeing court time in recent years.

Meanwhile, Paul George struggled mightily with six points on 2-13 shooting, while James Harden had just 11 points on 3-7 shooting.

The loss came right as things were starting to look up for the Clippers slightly, having won four of their previous five games.
