Rybakina Reflects on French Open Title Hopes Following Stuttgart Victory

Elena Rybakina evaluated her chances of winning the 2024 Roland Garros after clinching a trophy on clay at the WTA 500 event in Stuttgart.

The Kazakhstani player had a promising showing at the French Open last year, although it was cut short due to illness. This year, she kicked off her clay season by claiming the Stuttgart title.

On her way to victory, Rybakina defeated Iga Swiatek, a strong contender for the Roland Garros title. Swiatek had previously won the tournament and is considered a favorite this year as well.

Despite her strong performance last year, Rybakina’s Paris campaign was disrupted by illness. However, she remains a top contender this year. Expressing her confidence, Rybakina shared her thoughts on her chances after winning the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix final.

She emphasized the importance of self-belief and staying physically fit to challenge tough opponents. Rybakina’s recent win over Swiatek on clay has boosted her confidence leading into Roland Garros.

While the playing conditions at Roland Garros differ from Stuttgart and may favor Swiatek, Rybakina’s skills are capable of securing the title. It remains to be seen if she can maintain her best form to claim victory at the upcoming tournament.
