After securing a winning season last year but missing out on the playoffs, the New Orleans Saints are looking to have an even better 2024.
While the hopes were high for the team, especially on defense, those hopes took a hit when veteran role player Tanoh Kpassagnon went down with a torn Achilles earlier this offseason.
The Super Bowl-winning defensive end played in all 17 games last year and added in 3.5 sacks.
Head coach Dennis Allen recently confirmed Kpassagnon’s injury:
“Tanoh tore his achilles in the offseason. So he’s gonna be out for a little while,” Allen told the New Orleans media, via NOF.

The former Chief was a significant depth piece behind All-Pro edge-rusher Cameron Jordan.
Now, who knows how long he will be out for?
If it was earlier in the offseason, perhaps he could return later in the year.
But if it was more recently, then his 2024 season is most likely in doubt.
Kpassagnon was drafted out of Villanova in the second round back in 2017 by the Chiefs.
The former All-Conference player has tied his career-high in sacks with 4.0 multiple times and has 41 career quarterback hits.
Again, he is more of depth piece than anything else.
He has started just 34 games out of the 101 career games that he has played in.
This is where a veteran player like free-agent signee Chase Young will need to step up.
After signing a one-year deal with the team, the former Pro-Bowler will need to show his old Ohio State self.
