After losing to the Los Angeles Rams on the road at SoFi Stadium on Thursday night, the New Orleans Saints may be seeing their hopes of clinching a playoff spot disappear, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers now having the ideal opportunity to take the lead in the NFC South division standings.
Even though the Saints only lost by eight points to the Rams yesterday, the team still looks shaky on the offensive side of the football when facing a formidable opponent, which Los Angeles has become over the last month or so.
The problem is there are no personnel issues in New Orleans, with the team having the talent to put points on the board on a weekly basis regardless of their opponent, but they still seem to come up short.
Head coach Dennis Allen tried to explain how the Saints’ offense can be “more balanced” moving forward, as he pointed directly to the team’s shortcomings in the run game, according to John Hendrix of Sports Illustrated.
Dennis Allen said the Saints have not run the ball well.
“We’ve got to be able to run the ball effectively so we can be a more balanced offense.”
Allen said it has to happen.

With Alvin Kamara, Jamaal Williams, and, at times, Taysom Hill, the Saints’ run game should be humming, as the team is clearly talented in that department.
It certainly didn’t help that Kamara missed the first four games of the season, but at this point during the regular season, he should be up to speed and playing at a high level as the perennial Pro Bowler is used to doing.
In 12 games, Kamara has rushed for 649 yards and five touchdowns while also catching 73 passes for 462 yards and a touchdown.
