Samuel Lusale announces official transfer to Manchester United from Crystal Palace – Man United confirms deal

Michael Appleton rejected job offer to become Manchester United's loans manager - Man United News And Transfer News

Samuel Lusale has officially confirmed that he has finally signed for Manchester United from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.

Last week, Lusale’s transfer to United was teased as a picture of him holding up the number seven shirt at Old Trafford emerged.

United agreed a deal to sign the youngster from Palace during the summer transfer window but before the announcement of the deal, the Red Devils needed all the necessary approvals from the Premier League and the Football Association (FA).

Lusale has now taken to social media, where he confirmed the news.

The 17-year-old posted images of himself signing his United contract.

He captioned the photos with the message, “I’m incredibly blessed to have signed my first professional contract with Manchester United.”

“There’s still much more work to be done, but it’s a privilege to be part of such an amazing club.”

“A new chapter begins.”

It’s believed that Palace had high hopes for Lusale as he came through the ranks at their academy.

So desperate were the Eagles to hold on to the starlet that they offered him a scholarship deal earlier in the summer to remain at Selhurst Park.

This proposal was rejected by Lusale, who was eager to join United. The player had been with Palace since the age of 13 and played a part in the side’s FA Youth Cup campaign last season.

Lusale was called up by Slovakia’s Under-18 side during the September international break.

The United arrival produced a sensational performance for Slovakia despite their 3-2 loss at the hands of Wales, as he registered a goal and an assist on the eve of his 17th birthday.

Lusale has been included as an under-21 option in United’s Premier League squad for the 2024/25 campaign.
