Saquon Barkley Receives Enthusiastic Welcome Upon Arrival at Eagles Training Camp

The Philadelphia Eagles want to make some noise this season, and they made the moves to do so this offseason.

Besides hiring Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio to help Nick Sirianni, they also landed the best running back entering free agency in Saquon Barkley.

The Penn State product is heading back home and will now play for a divisional rival.

However, it didn’t take long before the fans who used to root against him, are now rooting for him.

As shown by the Eagles on Twitter, Barkley got a wild and warm welcome to training camp as soon as he took the field.

That’s the kind of Brotherly Love you get when you suit up for the Birds, and Barkley has an opportunity to turn from villain to hero in Philadelphia.

Barkley felt disrespected by the New York Giants’ approach to his contract situation, and rightfully so.

They eventually allowed him to test the free-agent market, and while they told him to come back after exploring his value to give them an opportunity to match any offer, it seemed like it just made sense for both parties to move on from each other.

Only time will tell if GM Joe Schoen made the right call or if Howie Roseman overpaid for his services.

But on paper at least, Barkley gives the Eagles yet another dimension and playmaker for their already impressive offense, and there are plenty of reasons to be excited about this team.
