The New York Jets have come under fire by the media recently after quarterback Aaron Rodgers decided not to show up to mandatory minicamp because of another important commitment.

Rodgers’ teammates have immediately come to his defense.

All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner recently posted this on X:

“Are y’all really making a big deal because a 15+ year HOF QB missed 2 days of practice after being with the team all throughout Phase 1, 2, & 3 of OTAs,” Gardner tweeted.

This is something that could make this team even closer.

After all, Rodgers isn’t missing multiple regular season games because he is on vacation.

He is not upset at the team over his contract or anything like that.

The legend has interests outside of football and is perhaps focusing on one of those.

Quite possibly, there isn’t a more experienced and better prepared signal-caller in the league than Rodgers.

Fans should not be concerned about him missing a couple of days of practice.

But in the end, it seems like this story is way overblown.

The future, first-ballot Hall-of-Famer, along with his teammates, should be ready to roll for what could be a very exciting 2024.
