Saudi Clubs Shift Focus from Bruno Fernandes to Kevin de Bruyne – Latest Man United Transfer Updates

After missing out on Bruno Fernandes, Saudi clubs set to focus on Kevin de Bruyne - Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United ended a dismal season on a high by clinching the FA Cup trophy against all the odds against Premier League winners Manchester City.

Not many had given them a chance after they secured their worst-ever finish in the league while also getting dumped out of Europe before Christmas.

Unlike the incompetent Glazers, INEOS were not too pleased with the results and have been planning for a large-scale summer clearout as they look to move on under-performing senior stars while adding diamonds in the rough.

Raphael Varane had already announced his departure while Casemiro has also been linked with an exit.

And despite scoring 15 times and emerging as the top chance creator for the second season in a row, Bruno Fernandes has also been linked with a sensational transfer away from Manchester.

Bruno’s future

The Portuguese has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich and Barcelona while Saudi Arabian clubs were also looking at the United club captain with former Red Devil Cristiano Ronaldo pushing for his compatriot to join him at Al-Nassr.

But as per CaughtOffside, the 29-year-old has no intention of leaving England for the riches of the Middle-East and is set to don the famous red jersey next season as well.

After the rejection, Saudi clubs have shifted their attention to Kevin de Bruyne of Manchester City with the Belgium international open to a transfer as well.

“Sources have told CaughtOffside that Al Nassr have been keen to sign Fernandes from Man Utd, but are now looking at De Bruyne as another option since it currently seems that the Portugal international will remain at Old Trafford.

Fernandes out, KDB in for Saudi clubs

“Fernandes has prioritised staying with United, despite also attracting some interest from top European clubs, so it seems Red Devils fans can breathe a sigh of relief on the future of the 29-year-old, who is sure to be a hugely important part of the club’s project in years to come.”

If indeed Fernandes’ rejection leads to Pep Guardiola losing his talisman, it would indeed be further cause for celebration for United fans who already cannot imagine their future without the Portugal international.

The former Sporting Lisbon star is reportedly waiting for INEOS’ final decision on the managerial situation before taking a final call on his future.

He has already asked the new co-owners for a new contract which would grant him wage parity with Marcus Rashford while also requesting for INEOS to match his ambitions in the transfer market and ensuring he can continue to win trophies while playing at Old Trafford.
