Schweinsteiger Recommends 26-Year-Old Manchester United Player Seek New Opportunities for Success

Manchester United Star Marcus Rashford

Germany and Bayern Munich legend Bastian Schweinsteiger has endorsed Marcus Rashford’s potential departure from Manchester United. Schweinsteiger, a former midfielder, believes that Rashford has yet to fully demonstrate his abilities at United and would excel in a different environment.

According to Schweinsteiger, who spent two years at Old Trafford, Rashford, 26, is considered one of the top attacking players at Manchester United. However, the former FIFA World Cup winner suggests that the club has not been able to provide Rashford with the necessary support, leading to his frustration. Schweinsteiger expressed his thoughts on The Overlap podcast, urging Rashford to consider a move to a club where he can receive better service.

The ex-Chicago Fire FC star commented, “I would love to see [Marcus Rashford] in a better team where he gets the balls in the right moment. I’d love to see that. In the years in the past, you don’t really see that. If he would play for a different team, maybe he would also increase his level a little bit more. He’s still the player who can decide their games but he doesn’t show it many times.” Schweinsteiger also hinted at Rashford’s potential frustration with the current situation at Manchester United.

Despite being one of the most talented players in the Premier League, Rashford has struggled to meet his high standards during the 2023-24 season. While he has shown glimpses of his abilities and scored a few goals, he has not consistently delivered when needed most by his team.

Rashford has appeared in 39 games for Manchester United across all competitions this season, scoring eight goals and providing five assists. With a contract that runs until June 2028, any club interested in acquiring Rashford’s services would need to be prepared to make a significant financial commitment.
