A number of notable players across the NFL suffered injuries on Sunday, including Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson, Washington Commanders rookie QB Jayden Daniels, and San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

For the Seattle Seahawks, who blew out the Atlanta Falcons to regain first place in the NFC West, they lost star wideout D.K. Metcalf to a knee injury.

But the good news, per Bob Condotta, is that Metcalf’s injury is merely a mildly sprained MCL, and Condotta posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Metcalf will try to play in Week 8 versus the Buffalo Bills.

Metcalf is having a marvelous season with 35 catches for 568 yards and three touchdowns through Week 7, and his 81.1 yards per game is just a hair beneath his career high.

With the injury woes the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams are dealing with this season, there could be a pathway for Seattle to end up winning the division title, as long as it avoids becoming a victim of the injury bug.

The Seahawks may have to win the NFC West in order to make the playoffs, as the rest of the conference has gotten better and deeper than many expected it to be when the season started.
