Some separations clearly turn out better than others, and for one longtime NFL quarterback and possible future Hall of Famer, his former team is still close to his heart.
And vice versa.
Russell Wilson rose from being a third-round selection out of Wisconsin in the 2012 NFL draft to being by far the most successful quarterback in Seattle Seahawks history.
Not only did he win a Super Bowl, but the star signal caller led the franchise to nine straight winning seasons and a sterling 104-53-1 record.
Now, the team showed how much it still respects Wilson by providing him with his own retro jersey.
Wilson posted a video on his X account of the special jersey his former team sent him along with the caption, “Forever Grateful.”

Of course, after a disastrous layover in Denver that saw only 11 wins in two seasons, Wilson is the leading man once again.
This time in Pittsburgh, where he takes the reins of a team that reached the playoffs last year and seemingly never has a losing season.
In fact, you’d have to go all the way back to 2003 and that season’s 6-10 mark to find the last time the Steelers did not at least break even.
Now Wilson is leading the charge and has a golden opportunity to put the Denver debacle behind him forever.
It is apparent that he still has legions of fans in Seattle, including team management, which saw fit to gift him his own retro jersey.
Despite the painful separation, it is heartwarming to see the level of respect that lives on from both sides.
