The Seattle Seahawks got off to a solid start to the 2024 NFL season, beating the Denver Broncos 26-20 in Week 1.

The victory was the first for new head coach Mike Macdonald who took over this offseason and looks to be settling in well in his new role.

Seattle is expected to be a competitor for a playoff spot this season and for good reason as the roster is filled with solid talent on both sides of the field.

Offensively, the team is set with Geno Smith, D.K. Metcalf and Kenneth Walker, while the defense looks stout at all three levels of the field.

However, there is always a chance to bolster depth on the roster as injuries can strike at any point in the regular season.

Ahead of their Week 2 matchup against the New England Patriots, Seattle made a couple of moves on their practice squad via Seahawks PR.

“The Seahawks signed outside linebacker Jamie Sheriff, bringing back the undrafted rookie who was a preseason standout. Receiver Ty Scott was released to make room on the practice squad.”

Jamie Sheriff was a preseason standout for the Seahawks as he notched three sacks in the team’s final two exhibition games.

He was eventually signed by the Carolina Panthers, but waived after Week 1 despite playing 28 snaps across defense and special teams.

Sheriff was an undrafted free agent but now finds himself with another opportunity to stick in the NFL.

While it remains to be seen if he’ll actually make an impact, this is a low-risk move for the Seahawks who could always use more pass rush help.
