Selecting the Best Starting XI for the US Men’s National Team Facing Canada

Choose the USMNT starting XI against Canada

The USMNT will begin the post-Gregg Berhalter era in a friendly against Canada at 4pm on Saturday, September 7 at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, KS. The last time out, the USMNT lost 0-1 to Uruguay in Kansas City, MO, to exit Copa America. Our last poll received 459 responses.

So, which players should start? The choice is yours! Make your picks, and then hit the comments to let us know what other thoughts you have about it! Looking forward to seeing the results. Here’s a look at the roster:

GOALKEEPERS (4): Ethan Horvath (Cardiff City), Diego Kochen (Barcelona Atletic), Patrick Schulte (Columbus Crew), Matt Turner (Crystal Palace)

DEFENDERS (8): Auston Trusty (Celtic FC), Marlon Fossey (Standard Liege), Kristoffer Lund (Palermo), Mark McKenzie (Tolouse), Tim Ream (Charlotte FC), Chris Richards (Crystal Palace), Joe Scally (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Caleb Wiley (Strasbourg)

MIDFIELDERS (6): Johnny Cardoso (Real Betis), Luca de la Torre (Celta Vigo), Aidan Morris (Middlesbrough), Yunus Musah (AC Milan), Gio Reyna (Borussia Dortmund), Malik Tillman (PSV Eindhoven)

FORWARDS (6): Brenden Aaronson (Leeds United), Folarin Balogun (Monaco), Ricardo Pepi (PSV Eindhoven), Christian Pulisic (AC Milan), Josh Sargent (Norwich City), Haji Wright (Coventry City)

This time around, I created a separate Google form that includes pictures of each player (sample image below). If you’d like to use that form, I’ll place a separate link below. Please only fill out one form. I’ll total up the numbers from both forms to include in the results.
