The quarterback position in the NFL is about as talented as it has ever been with superstars under center all over the league and some healthy debates circulating in the media and on podcasts about which quarterbacks are currently the best in the NFL.

Recently, Houston Texans up-and-comer C.J. Stroud listed who he believes are the five-best quarterbacks in the league, with some interesting choices from the 22-year-old rising star.

Before having an incredible rookie season in Houston, the new face of the Texans franchise named Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles), Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs), Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals), Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills) and Justin Fields (then-Chicago Bears).

That list changed a bit a year later as he switched out Fields and Hurts for himself and Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys, which prompted Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco to name their top-five quarterbacks via Nightcap.

“Me, I would take [Patrick] Mahomes, Lamar [Jackson]. I would take CJ Stroud, Jordan Love and Josh Allen,” Sharpe said.

All the other quarterbacks make a lot of sense, as Mahomes is still arguably the best, followed by Jackson and Allen, but it might be a bit premature to put Love in this conversation after one solid season with the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers had a rough season until the halfway point, but their win over the Cowboys was impressive, to say the least.
