Shaun Alexander is one of the league’s most powerful running backs in NFL history and his prototype is a lost art that you don’t see very often in today’s league.

There is only one running back in the current generation that could remind fans of Alexander at all, and Shaun recently explained why he is the scariest back in the NFL.

On a recent episode of Up & Adams, Alexander said Derrick Henry is the league’s scariest running back and said, “He trains harder than all of us…I’m going all the way back to Walter Payton.”

Henry’s workouts go viral every offseason and his diet has recently generated plenty of attention, a regimen that includes not eating until the early evening and avoiding all fried foods, dairy, and sugar.

Henry is bucking the trend of running backs falling off a cliff between the ages of 28-30, and just a few months shy of his 31st birthday, he still looks like the unicorn he has been for the better part of the past decade.

Henry is on pace for 1,945 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns in his first year with the Baltimore Ravens and recently surpassed 10,000 yards and is close to reaching 100 rushing TDs as well.

There were signs last season that Henry was starting to slow down a bit, but he looks rejuvenated with the Ravens now that he is in an offense that is multifaceted and not overly focused on Henry pounding the ball 30 times a game.
