James Trafford Hints at Potential Manchester City Exit
Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford has suggested that a move away from the Etihad Stadium might be on the horizon.
The 23-year-old shot-stopper joined City from Burnley last summer and had previously enjoyed a successful stint with the Clarets.
Trafford likely anticipated becoming the first-choice keeper under manager Pep Guardiola, but things haven’t unfolded as expected.
When questioned about his future at City, Trafford stated, “Who knows, it’s football. Let’s take it a day at a time and try and work as hard as I can, and whatever happens, happens.”
He further noted, “I’ve obviously got a contract, so I don’t know what is in store for next season. I just know that I’ll take it one day at a time and focus on improving.”
Regarding his aspirations for the upcoming World Cup, he mentioned, “Everyone knows my situation, so I need to perform well whenever I get the opportunity. I haven’t discussed if my performances are enough, but I train hard every day and the rest is up to me.”
Due to his current predicament, Trafford has recently been linked to several clubs, including Tottenham, Leeds United, and Newcastle.
