The Los Angeles Dodgers swept the Atlanta Braves over the weekend and are probably the hottest team in the National League, winning 11 of their last 13 games.

They are deep, powerful, and talented, and have the best and most unique player in MLB on their roster in Shohei Ohtani.

Ohtani has been, together with Mookie Betts, Will Smith, Tyler Glasnow, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, carrying the Dodgers in the last few days and for most of the season, to be fair.

He just had another amazing week, which led to another individual recognition.

“Brent Rooker: .438/.550/1.063, 3 HR, 7 RBI. Shohei Ohtani: .524/.583/.952, 3 HR, 7 RBI. Your @Chevrolet AL and NL Players of the Week!” MLB tweeted.

Oakland Athletics slugger Brent Rooker was named the American League Player of the Week, and Ohtani got the nod in the National League.

The Japanese star, who signed a 10-year, $700 million contract with the Dodgers in the offseason, got on-base 58 percent of the time last week, which is incredible.

His slugging percentage was a fantastic .952, and he drove in seven runs.

Some people thought that he wouldn’t be such a strong MVP candidate this year because he wouldn’t pitch, but he is performing at such a high level at the plate that he is among the favorites anyway.

There is still a long way to go, but the guy is slashing .364/.426/.685 for the season as a whole, with 14 doubles, 10 home runs, and seven stolen bases, not to mention a 1.111 OPS.

Those are MVP-caliber numbers without a doubt.

He never ceases to amaze with his talent.
