Sinner Acknowledges Recent Injury Will Impact French Open Preparation

Jannik Sinner sustained a hip injury at a crucial time, acknowledging its inevitable impact on his Roland Garros campaign.

Grand Slams are rare and cherished occurrences in the tennis calendar, taking place only four times a year. This rarity magnifies their significance, with players often centering their focus around these major events.

With Roland Garros on the horizon, Sinner’s recent injury poses a significant setback. His withdrawal from the Italian Open underscored the severity of the situation and will undoubtedly affect his preparations for Roland Garros.

Speaking at a press conference following his exit from the ATP Masters 1000 event in Rome, Sinner confirmed the impact of his injury on his upcoming preparations.

While it is unlikely to sideline him for the French Open, the injury will restrict his training and match play leading up to the tournament, potentially hindering his performance.

“We have to see from next week onwards how to work on it. We have to decide it. The preparation for Paris will not be optimal because we are tight. My team and I will give our best to get to a good level to compete.”

While this situation is far from ideal and will impact his prospects at the event, it does not rule out his chances of success. Although his injury may lower the odds, Sinner’s talent and determination could still propel him to a strong showing.

Ultimately, as one of the premier players in the world, Sinner has the ability to find his groove during the tournament. The upcoming weeks will reveal the extent of his recovery, but undoubtedly, he would have preferred to avoid this setback.
